***BREAKING NEWS*** - 01-07-2010

Are you UKGN'R's next AXL ROSE?

After 8 years of wowing audiences all over the UK and Europe, our Axl is hanging up his spandex pants and bandana and calling it a day. That means we need to find someone ready to step up and take his place ASAP. Ever the professional, Dave's staying put until we find someone good enough to pass the torch to, so to any venues who might get in a flap about this, don't. We're not splitting up or about to give you anything even slightly below par. If any venue's are concerned, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US ASAP and do NOT listen to any third-hand Chinese whispers or mis-information that may well be put about!!

Do you think you've got what it takes?

Can you:
- Sing like Axl Rose?
- Perform to a very high standard 2 nights a week for 2 hours?
- Be willing to make every effort to get correct costume pieces, wigs, etc?
- Be willing to travel?
- Basically, BE Axl Rose 2 nights a week

We're not looking for a stand in, we're after a full time member willing to give it their all. Gigs will be Friday and Saturday nights, some Thursdays and Sundays every now and then, 1 weekend off a month.
Willingness and enthusiasm are more important than experience as there'll be extensive rehearsals before you're put in front of an audience.
You will need a full passport as there will be overseas travel.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person wanting to be a professional singer. Sense of humour essential.

No beerguts, alcoholics, addicts, child-scarers, knuckle-draggers, shy types, time-wasters or stage fright.

If you think you're the man for the job email us at iamaxlrose@live.com

2010 so far - 13-05-2010
First up, what a great year we're having so far!
Tackeroo gig - SOLD OUT! Belfast Empire - SOLD OUT! The Public - 400+ Mr Kyps - SOLD OUT! Assembly Rooms - 400+ Concorde 2 - 400+

A big thanks to everyone who's been in attendance so far and to those who will be.
Another high point was the band measuring 109db on the meters at Mr Kyps :-) ......without the PA!! (much to Rich's annoyance, sorry Rich, you know you love us really).

Much amusement was had on our jaunt around the Middle East. As soon as we landed in Dubai everybody was promptly strip searched by some rather enthusiastic customs officials while every item of clothing, down to the last sock, was taken out of everybodys luggage and gone through with a fine toothcomb. Turns out half sozzled, long haired, tattooed types attract attention to themselves. Quite the sobering experience. Thankfully the gigs turned out to be a riot and one of my mates from school was at one of them! Halfway round the world to meet a guy from down the road. A massive thankyou to Braegan who chaperoned us around and kept us out of (too much) trouble. The weather turned out nice for us too....

2010 Tour Dates! - 01-12-09
We have now completed the dates for next years tour, for the new dates please see here.

Jetsetting to the Sun!! - 29-11-09
WOW!!! We've had out first UAE gigs confirmed and are heading out to Dubai and Bahrain for a 3 day tour starting on the 13th of December. Just what we need before Christmas!! Looking forward to that one HUGELY!!
Latest Happenings - 25-11-09
It's been an eventful couple of weeks. Our van got crashed into by a wee chav in a metro (guess who came off worse...), a venue in Crewe arsing us around and cancelling the show without even bothering to tell us (you know who you are) and rhythm guitarist Jon being admitted to hospital for 4 days with an as-yet undiagnosed form of tropical gut-rot and missing the Gillingham gig, so Marcus (Lurch/Marbles/Meatloaf) the roadie had to step up and save the day by playing rhythm guitar. Top work Marbles!!!

Then playing at Music Live @ the NEC (after about 3 hours sleep) which was GREAT! ***VERY*** odd playing that early in the day with about 40 seconds soundcheck then doing such a short set though. The other bands were **great** too! Hats off to Yankee Rose + High On Maiden! There was an incident with one member of another band where the term 'primadonna' was very applicable. You know who you are..... (cough **twat** cough)....
:-)

All fun and games, eh?
Tour Dates Updated!!
At fecking last our webmaster has got off his arse and updated the dates! See here. CLUB SEVEN CLOSURE!!!
Now our replacement venue for the original Point gig has now also fallen through!!!!
We would like to extend our regret to all our fans who have bought tickets for either of these doomed gigs and offer our apologies.

We are working on an even bigger and better gig for Cardiff as we speak so please keep an eye on the website for an update very, very soon.

Insider secrets - 21-11-08
Our Slash has been interviewed my musicradar.com about Slash/GNR and slash's playing style. See it here.

Beacon Court 20/12/08 - 22-12-08
Our huge apologies to all that made it to the Beacon Court gig last Saturday and were let down by the band. We would like to take the time now to explain exactly what happened as we have heard from many of you that were there that Simon, the venue owner was talking crap and telling everybody that we were "getting the most out of our studio time"!? Yes, we were down the road in Little Horstead recording and Yellow Fish Studio's (about an hour away) but near the end of the session our ryhthm guitar player Jon, fell very ill very quickly and was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital with suspected Gastroenteritis. We have all suffered with flu this week and this was just a development of that for Jon. He got VERY sick very quickly. To be honest we were very worried for him. We initially told Simon that we would try and get our roadie to play guitar for the show as we all wanted to play but as Jons illness was so bad coupled with the fact that we would have to have left him stranded in Brighton while we were in Kent, we took the decision to cancell the show.

I hope you can all appreciate the seriousness of the situation and also that in the 6 years we have been on the road this is only the SECOND time we have EVER cancelled a show. Hopefully this will go some way to explaining to you all what happened and also how serious it was for us. So before you fly off screaming that we are unreliable or have no respect for our fans, please fully understand the situation first as we would be very offended if you though otherwise. I will also be re-iterating this to Simon at the Beacon Court so he understands fully.

Our apologies once again,

UKGNR

In any doubt that UKGNR were not Steven Adlers 1st choice for backing band in 2006?- 19-12-08
Whatever anyone tries to tell you, be sure to remember that UKGNR were Steven adlers 1st choice as backing band when his band broke down in 2006. We played Falmouth on 02/02/06 with him (his first gig in the UK for years) and went on to do 5/6 shows with him. To clarify what happened after.... we fired him!! Basically we no longer wanted to play with him cos he was a shambles. Just so you know. If anyone tries to tell you they are "endorsed" by him, its utter bullshit.

Note to all our fans and GNR fans!! DISCLAIMER!! - 17-11-08
We would just like to clarify a few points after all of the half baked information that is flying found cyberspace at the moment. We in no way are "slamming" or "boycotting" or "snubbing" or" "blasting" or anything else, the work featured on the upcoming Chinese Democracy album. As Guns N Roses fans firstly, we are all looking forward to hearing Axl's new album and I am sure that all of us will purchase a copy to complete the set. We have not heard the new album yet so to have any comments at all, whether they be positive or otherwise would be unjust. It is true that we are unsure as to whether we will be playing any of the new songs as as most of you know, our band concentrate on the 87-92 era and always try to do the music as much justice as we can. We hope that nobody has been offended by what have been mis-represented as our comments, i'm sure that most people with a decent IQ can understand how certain media contacts like to sensationalise and sex-up comments. I just wish we could wave our editing wand and ammend some of the stuff that has been used out of context so that we could explain what we meant. I guess that this piece of cyberspace is the best place to do just that!!

In short, Axl we love you. If we had boobies, we'd let you touch them. ;)

Asylum Gig CANCELLED - 01-07-08
Apologies all our fans who were looking forward to seeing us Sat 26th July at the Asylum. The Venue tried to back out of paying us the agreed deal at the very last minute so we were forced to cancel the show :( Thanks to Tony from The Bon Jovi Experience for giving us the heads-up that the venue were a bunch of cowboys!

2008 so far... - 01-04-08
Thanks to all our fans for making 2008 such a great year so far! We've enjoyed 2 very successful debut gigs at the Harlequin Theatre and Plinston Hall (where we'll definitely be returning next year!) as well as many memorable nights at our old favourites. Our recent return to the Point in Cardiff was a real highlight, with a great turnout and a fantastic atmosphere! We've recently added our tour dates for the rest of the year so check out the tour dates page for these.

New Videos !! - 28-10-07
We've just started getting some of our video footage converted to web format to put up here on the site. The first ones are:

Mr Brownstone - Mr Kyps in Poole - 12/05/07
Estranged - Mr Kyps in Poole - 12/05/07

The story so far..........
After taking a break at the start of the year, it's been great to get back on the road again! Many thanks to everyone who's come along to see us - the turnouts at all of the gigs have been fantastic. It's been good to go back to some of our favourite venues, as well as playing a sell-out debut gig at the Mill in Banbury. Sure we'll be back there again! We've added a few more gigs for later this year, so check out the tour dates page for these.

Good News !!
As many of you will know, Dave, our singer began suffering from a major throat problem last Summer. Despite our best intentions of carrying on, it got to the point where we had no option but to cancel a lot of our shows in order to give him the rest he needed. Once again, we apologise for having had to make these cancelations. Fortunately, he has now made a really good recovery and is very much back to his best.

"The new man on the rhythm guitar…"
As those of you who have seen us recently will already know, we now have a new face in the band. Due to personal circumstances, Dave, our Izzy Stradlin has decided to leave the band for a while. We wish him all the best, and welcome his replacement - Jon, our very own Gilby Clarke! Jon's done a great job of learning a lot of songs in a very short space of time, and played his first full gigs with us last weekend.

New Tracks!!
We've recently added Reckless Life and My Michelle to our sets, which seem to be going down well! We've got a few more new one's lined up including The Garden and Anything Goes.

Tales from the road…
It's been a good year for us so far. We've played some fantastic new venues and had a great time returning to some of our old favourites! There have been many memorable nights already and the turnout at the gigs has been fantastic. We've also been supported on several occasions by Birmingham based original band, and good friends of ours, Rattlesnake Remedy.

Adler's Appetite
As many people will know by now, we played a few dates with original GnR drummer Steven Adler last month. It was a great experience for us, and an honour to play alongside an original GnR member. The quality of Steve's playing was also superb and Mr Boo was certainly able to pick up a few tips!

So long 2005… bring on 2006!
Firstly, a big thank you to all our fans who supported us in 2005. It was a great year for the band… we took on Steve as our pianist, played our biggest gig to date at Cardiff Uni, played abroad for the first time in Germany and Austria, miraculously got Flash’s guitar back after it was stolen out there, got a new van after Duff crashed the old one, took on the now legendary Dennis as our driver, opened a practice studio and had a great time driving round the country rocking out!

Name Change
The new year also brought in the new name… after nearly four years as Bad Obsession we’ve officially made the switch to UK Guns N’ Roses. As much as we love the old name, we all felt that it should be more obvious from the name that we’re a Guns N Roses tribute band, so we bit the bullet and made the change.

GNR Weekends
This year we will adding some GNR Weekends (double night shows) to the tour, over the two days you will be able to experience the full four hour show that Guns N’ Roses produced in the early nineties featuring all of their greatest hits plus more! Click on the new GNR Weekends sets on the interactive menu (Left side) to see the different sets that will be played over the two nights.

New Venues
Also, this year we will be playing at loads of great venues and locations, Civic Halls, Theatres, Universities and Art Centers are all planned for 2006, giving fans new and old a chance to come and see the show.

Thanks again for all of your support keep checking our tour dates and we will hopefully see you all again soon!

Street Team
In order to promote our shows across the country to the full in 2006, UK Guns n Roses we be giving some of the fans the chance to be become part of our Street Team. This involves helping us advertise our up and coming gig in your local area by handing out flyers and putting posters in shops and in the street. In return you will obtain a 2 VIP passes which will allow you and a friend free entry to the show and also back stage entry after the show! If you would like to apply please select the Street Team option and fill out your details and we will contact you shortly! Tales from the road…

Tales From The Road
We ended 2005 at the Rock Café in Stourbridge with our first GnR weekender (keep a look out for more of those coming up). It was a fitting way to end the year and, seeing as it was new year’s eve, we even threw in some AC/DC, Rolling Stones and Velvet Revolver for good measure! Those of you who read Classic Rock magazine may have noticed some familiar faces in the January issue. Yep, we made it into their ‘Contraband’ tribute band column, which features an interview with our very own Mr Flash, so keep a look out for that.

Play Guitar Like Slash !! ......
Would you like to learn how to nail Slash's riffs & solos? Can you make it down to Gloucestershire on a Monday/Tues? If so, our very own Mr Flash is now giving guitar lessons from our new rehearsal studio in The Forest Of Dean. Email us for more info.. lessons@ukgunsnroses.com

Play Drums Like Matt Sorum !! ......
Yes, you got it, Mr Boo is now also available to share his DRUMTEK training with any aspiring drummers. Get your timing in order and Hammer it out like the boss does. Same time, same place as the Guitar lessons. Email us for more info.. lessons@ukgunsnroses.com

New Tracks !!
After such great feedback and many track suggestions, we are proud to let you know that you can now hear Estranged & Breakdown at our shows. Coma & Get in the ring are next in line... can't wait for those!!

At last we play November Rain thanks to our new Dizzy Reed !!
As I'm sure most of you who have been to our recent gigs will have noticed, we now have a part time 6th member of the band - Dizzy Reed aka Stevo!!
Steve will be joining us on most of the bigger (Saturday Night) gigs, however due to prior
commitments he unfortunately is not yet be available for all. Steve brings excellent keyboard
skills to the band enabling us to extend our catalogue of songs. We are currently learning Estranged, Breakdown, Coma, Bad Apples and a few others.
